RMweb Premium Neil Posted December 14, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 14, 2017 I wonder if anyone can help me locate drawings or a few key dimensions of these Renault diesel hydraulic shunting locos based in the port complex of Ghent. I can feel a model or two coming on but while there are plenty of good images out there on the net I've struggled to find drawings or dimensions. Many thanks.
rue_d_etropal
Not saying there is anything here, but might be worth a search through as it is all about history of Renault. Not every page is indexed, so it is difficult to get to every page directly. http://louisrenault.com/tag/automotrice/.
EddieB
If it helps, these are Renault model 5240-1 (built 1961-62), acquired second-hand by Sea-Invest-CBM (Gent) from Houillères du Bassin du Nord et du Pas de Calais (early 'seventies). One of the sister locos is preserved at Oignies, which leads to this scanned article on-line: http://fr.1001mags.com/parution/loco-revue/numero-689-decembre-2004/page-78-79-texte-integral Which reminds me that I photographed the loco preserved at the Denis Papin Centre, Oignies back in 2004 - which I didn't identify at the time! RMweb Premium Neil Posted December 15, 2017 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 15, 2017 Many thanks both. Simon - though I couldn't locate the loco I was looking for in the link you gave there's lots of very interesting stuff there. I shall be dipping into it from time to time. Eddie - Brilliant, absolutely bang on target. I have sent for a copy of the magazine. Watch this space.
