WILLIAM
Disappointing for some who have been waiting for the WC 47. However it does confirm that Bachmann's QC is much better than other manufacturers. I was thinking the opposite. To send a full batch of completed product half way round the world to then have to return it for remanufacture is a QC nightmare (if this is what has happened here). It's very laudable for Bachmann to do this but mistakes like this must be very costly for a business and obviously QC at the China end needs tightening. If Bachmann UK accepted them, and they don’t sell, because they aren’t right, means someone over here has to explain to the big boss why the overall numbers aren’t as good as they should be.Send them back faulty puts the explaining on someone else’s lap and not on your accounts. It also ensures what your getting is best quality. Edited June 15, 2018 by adb968008

Surely it's best for everyone if they are properly checked as being correct BEFORE they leave the factory (unless of course damage has occurred in transit)? It's not rocket science even if it costs you a couple of flight tickets. Edited June 15, 2018 by WILLIAM

It's not rocket science even if it costs you a couple of flight tickets. They almost certainly are checked before they leave the factory, and then checked again once they arrive in the UK. The factory aren't the domain experts, they can identify problems where the product didn't match the specification sheet they were following, but they can't as readily identify more prototype-ish errors. (and with the continual stream of releases manufacturers are going for, it's not particularly workable to have someone from the UK living and working in China just do this)
