I forgot to mention: the extension to Broadway also gives the GWSR what no self-respecting "heritage" railway should be without - a lovely view of a sewage farm!

If its the one off Pry Lane, then it has been there since the 1920s (though probably modernized a bit over the years)!

Is it me or does the font on the running in board look odd - perhaps its the spacing - it just doesn't look very pleasing.

 

That aside sterling woprk by all concerned. I imagine this it what it looked like when first opened all crisp and fresh

Yes, it's odd. I suspect a good attempt at homemade in cut-out wood, rather than based on the patterns for the original cast-iron. (CJL)

I seem to remember reading that they are, indeed, temporary wooden letters until the permanent cast iron replacements arrive.
