johna
Does anyone have any experience using a Peco n gauge electrofrog point and seep point motor with switch. Would like to know how reliable they are as I have limited room under the baseboard for anyother type of point. I have looked at using wire in a tube but can't figure out how to fit a switch to it. Also operation is from the side of the layout. Thanks Johna
RMweb Premium dhjgreen Posted December 28, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) I do not use point motors but you mentioned wire in tube, this is the way I do it in EM gauge. If you use this method, either an omega loop as I have made or a zig-zag is necessary to avoid over stretching the point. Standard slide switch from Maplin or similar; drill a small hole across the switch and I use piano wire for the connection to the point (can be bought from Aero model shops 22 or 23 swg). The tube is plastruct or similar. The 3mm cork sheet allows a groove to be cut to lay the tube into. Edited December 28, 2017 by dhjgreen
