Slater's 20t BR Brake Van, N Gauge Monorail

Hi all

 

Here is my finished 20t Brake Van from the Slaters kit, liberated from my fathers stash.

This was my first build of a railway rolling stock kit.

 

 

Paints were railmatch and revell acrylics.

Build was all things being equal a nightmare. It ended up a bit uneven on the wheels and the ends aren't quite vertical, the instructions were vague, there was a whole lot of flash which made it hard to figure out where some of the parts were actually meant to end... If I'd know there were no guide holes for the handrails I would have dealt with that before I built the thing...

And I couldn't get the quite the right decals but ended up with near enough for my purposes

To top it all off the stove broke off when I fixed the roof on and rattles around inside.

Found myself a Japanese monorail kit in 1:150 and decided it could be Britified. Arrows of indecision are Fox Transfers, painting by brush.
