Got it at Warley, a wonderful book indeed. Over a hundred pages of quality photos, mostly the work of John Malcom Boyes, all parts of the country with an emphasis on the early and the small, shunters, Claytons, 21s. 20s, 24/26/27 etc. I think there is not one I've seen before. Advise to anyone with an interest either history or model is to buy it !

Yes, it is by David Dunn. The ISBN no. is 1909625787. I suppose the West Highland and Morayshire are the areas the First Generation diesels operated, nothing on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line and Far North line I suppose?

On the contrary - quite a few of the Far North. It's a very fine book.

A few of Kyle that I have never seen, including a 24 inside the engine shed, and some lovely images of Dingwall, again that I had never seen.

It’s a really good book. I picked one up from Douglas Blades at the Renfrewshire MRC exhibition on Saturday. Lots of BR green and early blue diesels. A little bit disappointed there weren’t any dmus included as I’m particularly into Swindon dmus on Ayrshire and Edinburgh - Glasgow routes. But well worth buying the book regardless.

Hello

Finally got a copy at Doncaster over the weekend. Well worth the wait though; an excellent book both as a reference source and as a trip down memory lane,. Well done Booklaw.

                                                                                                        cheers
