Hattons Exclusive DJM Austerity Paint on Wheels

Hi All,

 

I recently bought one of Hattons DJM exclusive Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST, No.7 in Littleton Colliery Blue, and was rather suprised to find that, straight out of the box the model was a rather poor runner. Lubrication did improve it slightly, but upon checking the wheels I found they were covered in paint on the surface that touches the railhead, presumably from when the model was weathered. A card inside the box states that the model had been tested, but it can't have run all that well with wheels covered in paint?! Now cleaned and running well, I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
