Norway trip and subsequent wondering about models

Had a wonderful trip through Norway last year, train from Oslo to Trondheim, then from Trondheim to Bodo... This was our traction for the latter trip.  Now, I know nothing about these, but they do sound good!  Does anyone make a model of them?  (Even if it will look a little out of place in 1960's Dorset!)

The page linked to by Eddie B mentions Hobbytrade as a manufacturer.

According to this page (in Norwegian) Hobby Trade was the most recent manufacturer. Hobbytrade  is a Danish company. I have found a couple of Danish catalogues online from around 2010 which have the loco listed, but it is not on their current webpage (Danish), so it looks like it is out of production.

Edit: The NMJ shop has an English website, no Di4s that I could find, but other stuff that might interest you: https://en.nmj.eu/?___store=de_en&___from_store=default

Try Roco 73382 and 73383 Elektrolok El.16 in EBay - just be careful about buying AC instead of DC. NMJ manufacture an El 14 - just noticed your picture is diesel. :( time for new glasses. Good luck anyway.

I’m pretty sure NMJ used to do one (both in HO and O?)....I also remember reading the price!

When considering NMJ models their pricing may frighten you if you look at their superline series instead of topline. The topline models are regular plastic RTR, the superline models are brass, the topline models aren't cheap but they're not especially expensive for European HO, the superline series on the other hand are very much on the pricey side (although in fairness they're in the same area as similar models from companies like Fulgurex and Lemaco/Lematec).

Hej Mikkel,

Hobbytrade has come up a bit as a good manufacturer. Their current catalogue that you link to has a couple of items that I'm interested in, any recommendations as to a good shop etc to get them from? They don't seem to sell directly by mail order ?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill. It can be difficult. The Danish market is small and dominated by the big German brands, so productions runs from the small Danish manufacturers are quite limited and quickly sold out. I don't model the Danish scene myself, so don't have too much insider info either.

The following two are online traders, but in Danish only! Note the AC/DC differences.

*Modeltog.dk have some stock, here are the Hobbytrade pages: http://www.modeltog.dk/hobby_trade___f_2010-c-222.html?bgsid=09164bf0193e9c7cbc455dc5e67ffce4

*Nettog.dk also have some stock, these are the Hobbytrade pages: http://shop.nettog.dk/group.asp?group=121

Alternatively, Paa Sporet is one of the old established shops and have English webpages, but their Hobbytrade stock seems a bit limited at the moment. They are friendly though so you could write and ask if they can obtain special/secondhand requirements for you: http://shop.paa-sporet.com/en/

Thanks very much for that, Mikkel.

Had a look,  I shall  investigate further.   Paa Sporet does ship within EU (so OK at moment...) and elsewhere but not insured unfortunately.  Worth contacting, as you suggest.

Unfortunately, one item I wanted is marked as  midlertidig udsolgt so I'll have to wait anyway...  :-(

Thanks again,

Bill

Bill,

I have also found Felderbanen in Bramdrupdam (near Kolding) a useful source. They have a comprehensive website and they have sent items to me in the post previously.

www.felderbanen.dk should find them.

Regards,

Geraint

I've found Togdillen very helpful http://www.togdillen.dk and if you are looking for decals Skilteskoven http://www.skilteskoven.dk are good and take PayPal.

I've found not all Scandinavian retailers take PayPal or credit cards, preferring bank transfers. I have used XE.com most recently as it's much cheaper than my bank.
