3DK Models - New Release

Recommended Posts

Not sure how many have come across the 3DK downloadable kits https://www.3dk.ca/ .

I stumbled upon them by chance and have been really pleased how they have turned out. They are a bit simpler than ScaleScenes models and don't have the wrap arounds for the cover sheets John does and not as robust (but nothing is!).  The models adapt well and look great with lighting. The printable windows have some good detail as well.

"Calum" is also great with questions.

New release out today: Grand Factory Entrance.  In £DK's words The archway and walling is the start of our grand factory complex. We are excited to be working on a series of factory buildings that can be assembled in many different ways but will all compliment each other. They will be released one a time starting in Jan 2018 and are designed to compliment the grand factory entrance.

No room on my 6x4 for the wall, but will be seeing how the factory buildings come out.  The foundry and small factory look appealing though.

All the kits are useful if you are focused on an early period and am sure lots of opportunity for kit bashing for more modern layouts.

NB - they do some HO and O Gauge stuff as well that varies in design.  Calum gives instructions for how to resize.

A brick works building has just been released. Ideal for a private siding and should convert to half relief for those with less space. I really must download one of their products and try it.

After an exchange of emails, the works is not meant to be a brick works, described as brick factory, what they mean is it's a factory or works built out of bricks!!

Yes, I thought the same. Then realised it wasn't that!  Anyway, went for the other factory...partly built.  Instructions a bit muddled on this one I must admit.

Interesting site especially since i also reside in the GWN.  Didn't know about it before.  However, I would still have had to make my own "middle/upper class" row houses.  Everyone and their dogs make the run of the mill row houses but there were a heck of a lot of "more grand" versions with a lot of them relatively close to the station so that these good folks didn't have too far to walk when they decided to go to Town.

Have you had a look at the Scalescenes 1930s semis? Just the job for aspiring middle classes?
