Tried them on a NCE Powercab controller, the Gaugemaster was packed away as part of a general reorganisation that’s been in hand for some time. </p><p> </p><p> Very impressed with the slow running, in particular. Very steady and controllable. The brakes need thinking about, as does the regulator - I’ll have to practice these. They definitely need driving, and have different characters. </p><p> </p><p> The K27 is the more sure-footed of the two, over the occasionally bumpy test track, the K28 occasionally derails the front tender bogie over a well-known “catch” in the track, but there’s not much in it (incidentally, a big vote here for the Bachmann 2-8-0, a super piece of kit which romps around the worst the test track can offer). </p><p> </p><p> They DO look good weathered, too..</p><p> </p><p> So, so far, so good!</p> View the full article Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
