jonny777
I have almost finished a Metcalfe warehouse. I need two or three of these really to obscure my 'hidden' sidings. They seem to have discontinued the brewery, which I was going to try and merge together with a warehouse to produce a more bespoke building. I used a Stanley knife at first, but many of the parts are semi-cut already and I found it was easier to use a small but sharp pair of scissors initially and then just trim with the life. I used Expo Card Glue for this, and quite liked the results; although it does set rather quickly and there is little margin for error after a few seconds. However, it dries almost clear and so the occasional minor 'bleeding' from joins does not show up.
RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted March 18, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 18, 2018 I'll admit that I can cut a straighter line with a knife than scissors. Over the last 50+ years, I've moved from balsa cement (sometimes plastic cement) to white glue, yellow glue and now Roket glue. The later ones et up faster than the one before. Problem is that the glue is stronger than the card if you make a mistake. Even worse if the kit is a bit off and a tab or soemthing needs trimming.
