PatC Posted February 27, 2018 Author Share Posted February 27, 2018 Just a quick reminder, the Romsey Exhibition is this coming Saturday and Sunday. Not the biggest show perhaps but always a friendly atmosphere with a good mix of what our hobby has to offer. Romsey currently has a road closure in the town centre, with Bell Street (just round the corner from Crosfield Hall) closed and therefore no through route for motor vehicles into the Market Place from the south. Diversion signs are in place. This shouldn't affect those coming direct to the exhibition. It's also worth remembering that parking in Romsey is free on Sundays. PatC Posted March 2, 2018 Author Share Posted March 2, 2018 Yes, as Ian has posted, due to the current weather conditions the difficult decision has been made to cancel this year's Romsey exhibition. JRAS Posted March 2, 2018 Share Posted March 2, 2018 (edited) Cheer up! On the up-side, I get to have the weekend off now. It is, of course, very frustrating to have cancel at almost the last minute after all of the hard work that had been done behind the scenes to organise the exhibition and also disappointing for exihibitors, traders and those who were intending to visit. Fingers crossed that the weather improves and the Basingstoke show will be unaffected next weekend. Two club members' layouts will be there - End of the Line and Wheal Kate. The line-up will most probably change a little, as it is unrealistic to expect all exhibitors and traders to be available on the new dates. Just a reminder that the 39th Romsey Model Railway Exhibition is scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of June. Hopefully the mid summer date may protect us from the extremes of British weather that led to the late cancellation of the show in March.
