RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 One of the guys on a RhB forum put me onto this. The google translate app has a camera option that translates a page as you look at it. It's still a bit random on the translation software but much faster finding info. bgman
I did try using that app on my iPad about a year ago Paul, but when its a whole book and the randomness in translation I just gave up and looked at the pictures ! Herr Today
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 3, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 Yes it struggles but as translation improves in future it will be even more useful. I find it quite good for getting an idea of the subject using another app that translates from photos and then read it in more detail for sections I want to know more on. This just speeds it up a bit.
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted March 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 Are you sure they aren't Chinese bunk bed assembly instructions?! I photograph the page from my Spanish magazines and Google translate makes a pretty good fist of the translation. Mike.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 3, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 It varies with the structure of language, some are more coherent than others as plain English. If you're a partial speaker though and used to the language it's not surprising
