making a start in 09

Recommended Posts

You say you've sold most of your stock but have you got any 009 locos left that could have a big cab etc added to convert to 09? It could be an idea. I haven't built any Minimum Gauge Models kits but I have seen them and they looked very good.

I saved a Kato chassis which had a scratch built diesel loco on it(it has since been removed) but that's the only powered chassis I saved. I think in that case I will probably have to start afresh.

I've been modelling in 09 for a sort while and it can be super cheap if scratch build everything. i have found that you save more on the chassis cost if you stick to modelling diesel's and use the kato 103 or 104, but yes i model in both 009 and 09 and i find 09 much cheap and less frustrating. :-)

I model in 009 and I like the Kato chassis too as it's cheap and fairly smooth. I can see the advantage of using it in 09 where it could represent small locos whereas in 009 they end up rather large.

Just to keep alive on this forum, have you acquired any MGM kits yet?

Peter

I am playing catch up on the forum as I don't visit as often as I would like but 09 is certainly wetting my appetite. Is there a lot out there in 09?

I will Google MGM shortly but I imagine the first thing that will appear is the film company!
