scale bell cranks for point control?

Recommended Posts

G'day,

Is it possible to get scale, or at least small and discreet, 90 degree bell cranks so that surface-mounted point motors can drive turnouts at 90 degrees to the normal direction of throw?  I want to use my DCC Concepts Cobalt SS motors parallel to (in fact between) tracks.

regards

Assuming you want 00/H0, try these - http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/track_details.htm

Wills also do them, but in plastic.

Thanks both. The Brassmasters versions are listed as cosmetic use only, but Ii have popped them an email as if two were laminated they might be useable.

The Wills ones, despite being oversize, do not look durable enough.

Or maybe these https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/cobalt-right-angle-adapters-with-mounting-hardware-3-pack/

I am not sure they would work with the SS motors, but perhaps they might avoid the need for bell cranks? I am interested in what solution you eventually find, as I am intending to mount as many of my point motors on the surface as possible. SS looks like the right product but the cost is making me continue to look elsewhere for now.

I will let you know. The DCC ones are quite large. Modratec also do a range of cranks but they are all really for WIT and below board use, and very large.

I have some platforms already down so space is limited. Some others I will put under platforms with a loose lid. The rest..we'll see!

The RA adapter is designed for fitting to a "normal" Cobalt motor. It is not suitable at all for use with the SS motor.

Cheers,
