RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Firstly I apologise for some of my earlier pictures taking on an altogether different orientation, the joys of quickly uploading from a fruit based device between serving refreshments and force selling cakes, pies and pastries to the willing... Secondly having been personally mentioned above I must correct the fact as the day was mainly organised, with a little help from his friends, Stu of this Parish and much thanks should go to him, Peter for organising the catering side of things and Phil (and glamorous assistant Kim) for the Bring and Buy. A huge thanks also to the the members whom gave up time to exhibit, demo and relieve us of spondulicks. Thanks also to all whom dropped by to marvel at the level of modelling inspiration on show, have a chat and generally ensure that the day continued to be much more than just another model railway show as it continues in the spirit laid down by the good Captain to be so much more than that! peter220950
Just got back home, firstly a huge thank you to the cake and pasty suppliers, the catering sode of things has managed to pay for pie or pasties for around 20 Exhibitors and still turn a contribution of £132.00 for the Charity, many thanks it's much appreciated. Secondly some photo's I managed to get during a quiet spell, they will have to spread over a few posts, as I only seem to be able to load one at a time on the uploader when using a tablet, thanks to all the Exhibitors for another great Show. peter220950
And finally a big thank you to Stu and the rest of the team that made it possible, I came as a visitor two years ago and was struck by the relaxed atmosphere, brought the layout last year and worked the kitchen this, it's still the highlight of the year. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2018 Thank you to everyone who called by today. I had a splendid time. I have to say Mutton behaved impeccably and it was most amusing to stand back and let others play with my train set. How good was it to finally meet Robin, Spams Alex ( Wiggers) to name just three. Mutton saw a few guest locos and I was most impressed with Robin's 1361 which looked lovely, Alex's 04 ( longctime favourite type) and CK's Planet which was just delighful. All looked great on Mutton which received a few kind words. Thank you all once again. Here's to next year....!! Rob
bgman
Enough of my silly photographs, having dropped by Mutton I had further chance to look at this superb layout this year and it certainly does Rob justice to show what can be achieved in a small space. Full of atmosphere and beautifully modelled ( I told him that again too...he's a modest chap when it comes to it ). Maybe my photos aren't up to others standards and Rob has shown similar ones to these on his thread but I think its worth showing them here. burgundy
My thanks also to all those who were involved in the organisation of the show. Some great layouts, putting faces to lots of names, plenty of chat, even a veggie pastie - what a great way to spend a day. Best wishes Eric
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2018 Thanks again for all the juicy pics. This year does seem to have been a vintage event - one to greatly regret missing. Glad there are some pics of the Moduleers - they add a considerable something every year. I promise to try harder to attend next year.

chrisf
Got back about three quarters of an hour ago. May I add my thanks to Stubby, Muz and the rest of the team for putting together another good show. It is not every event that would induce me to drive 360 miles or so in a day! My grateful thanks to whoever provided the Welsh cakes. They are are a rare delicacy and that's the truth. I was sorry to miss a chat with Wiggo, whose work I admire not least through the Huntingdon connection, but glad to see and meet so many other old friends and sparring partners. Oh, and for the avoidance of doubt, Mutton has Star Quality. Chris
