Credit where credit's due; I didn't see it in magazines before but on page 33, the "Workbench" section lists part numbers and where to find them. I find that very useful.

I don't care if Screwfix are paying you to use their site, that's not what I think and it puts me off when some companies don't specifically state where they got their stuff from in case it looks like you're preferring them over others.

I just want to get a better idea of price and what I'm looking at.

This magazine has included some really great articles :)

We always try to mention where we obtain components as it's a vital service to the reader. We are normal shop customers and neither we, nor the magazine get paid to mention where we bought stuff. (CJL)

An excellent issue loaded with practical tips, advice and projects, all of which helps to get people to have a go and do some modelling.

My only reservation concerns the Heljan class 20 'O' gauge loco up for a review with revised front end from the original models of 2010. Looking at the back of the 20 on page 93 it seems a little flat. Should there be more of a 'tumblehome' between the roof and the bottom of the rear windows? Can any 20 fans enlighten us?

I just Googled Class 20 images and the back of the cab is flat. (CJL)

I have today got my copy of MR 247.

I am rather pleased with the content....first flick through indicates a large amount of revelant items!

I am even more pleased, as Tesco have this issue (which I was going to buy following on from the "next month" contents in the last issue) bagged with the Steam Railway dated March 30-April 26, issue 478.

EDIT to add...

It does cost £4.99 for the two mags, but as I was going to buy MR anyway...."Save over £3.50"....it says....

It has been a long time since we have had a copy of SR. This one looks good, with 25pages on Britannia locos, and a lot more!

A pity this couldn't be a regular thing, as I need reading material for bedtimes! ;)

The cover says 'Simple ways to wire your layout' but I'm struggling to find that article.

Held over from April?  :jester:

Having looked into my copy, I think "simple ways to wire your layout" refers to the article about installing point motors for a fiddle yard.

The brillo article ref the solenoid switches has inspired me so much that I already have the goods to do the job!

Then there is the simple cassette construction article....just what I needed as a good reminder and design confirmer.

Excellent Edition of this mag; thanks. I like the format.......I see a few more coming to 36E especially as there is a request for LSWR main line layouts for future feature.

I found this issue to be very interesting with many useful articles. Indeed it persuaded me to take up the offer of 26 digital issues for £26. I’m not a fan of digital magazines, but at that price its worth trying.
