Help with DB liveries

Good afternoon all, a request for assistance if I may. Could someone please point me in the direction of a good colour reference to DB loco and coach liveries/consists? I am trying to figure out which combinations might have been used. I have found the livery guide on railfaneurope, which is a good start, but while it shows the different liveries individually, it doesn't give much detail of how the various colours would have been formed into a train (or what might be pulling it). The guide in the July/August 2017 N Bahn Magazin to OBB liveries and consists was great and I would love to find something similar for DB. Thanks in advance!

There is a good overview about used colours at https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAL-Eisenbahnfarben   although this list is working the other way around. It defines the colour and states the time when it was used. A comprehensive answer can be found in these https://shop.vgbahn.info/miba/shop/anstrich+und+bezeichnung+von+lokomotiven-_898.html       https://shop.vgbahn.info/miba/shop/anstrich+und+bezeichnung+von+trieb-+und+reisezugwagen-_1192.html    books. Sorry, all information in German only...

Train formations are available in English for epoche III and some epoche IV on RoG, Google https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/germanrailfr/train-compositions-f20/ these are taken from prototype information, examples have images and recommendations of how to model each train, most types of DB services are covered.

This website may also be of interest:

http://www.bahnstatistik.de/RAL.htm

Like the article in Wikipedia, this is the other way round, but years are shown for the colours and it is stated for what parts they have been used.

There are some pictures and some colours are grouped according to the livery they belong to.

Anyway, just look at some pictures of the protoype and combine your trains like it. The different liveries were mixed a lot in every era.

Thanks for all the replies - very useful! In terms of eras, I am interested in the whole period since 1945 but Eras V-VI are simpler partly due to the abundance of red paint and partly because I have seen some of it myself. It's III-IV which I particularly need help with!
