TEAMYAKIMA
Hi I have acquired a kit of a building site and there are loads of these .................. I think they are breeze blocks but can someone confirm this please? I want to pile them on top of a wooden pallet as a scenic feature but I assume whatever they are they would be heavy and so might be too heavy to store on a wooden pallet - any thoughts? Lastly what colour would they be?
giz
They don't look like anything used in the UK but they do have the look of the extruded clay blocks that used to be common in continental europe before Thermalite type blocks became almost mandatory for insulation reasons. Bricks/blocks are supplied on pallets, the height of each pack dependant on the block density, usually about 3 feet. RMweb Premium uax6 Posted April 19, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 19, 2018 Molar blocks? Used in lots of places in the interwar period in the UK.... But I'm guessing that these are the continental versions... Andy G
Edwin_m
What size are they when scaled up? Network Rail has been using large concrete blocks on some recent jobs to build retaining walls and similar. They have interlocking studs similar to these and look like giant Lego bricks. giz
Found something that looks similar manufactured in India: https://www.jjbricks.com/item/extruded/e3/hollowclay-blocks
Fat Controller
Found something that looks similar manufactured in India: https://www.jjbricks.com/item/extruded/e3/hollowclay-blocks Those are the sort of blocks I was thinking of- commonplace in France still for house walls; sods to cut without a disc-cutter. Very light in proportion to their size, and with good insulating properties.
