WIMorrison
I have a Bemo v51 (many years old) that packed up last night and I have confirmed it is the motor. I have taken the motor onto the bench and even with 12v DC connected directly to it there is no movement I think it may be the same as the Liliput 0-6-2 motor but with the motor shaft extended out of both ends. Can anyone identify this and suggest where I can get a replacement? Bemo are notoriously slow (difficult) to get spares from and they are horrendously expensive when you can get them - I will however go there if I have no choice. Hoping that someone has an idea Iain
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted April 26, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2018 I might well have one of those in the spares box from an old Q kits motor bogie. I'll check and if I have, you're welcome to it.
WIMorrison
If you have then I will be very happy to pay for the motor and the postage - you would be resurrecting a favoured loco!
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted April 26, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2018 The main dimensions look ok. If you can do something with it PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post to you. I've got a couple of these and it'd be good to see it used. WIMorrison
well, working on the principle that the motor is goosed I took it apart and found that one of the brushes was worn out to the point of not being there any more - but the other is 6mm long! I am now in the fortunate position of possibly being able to repair the original motor, I made a brush from a 8B pencil that I stole from my daughter and it runs, but not brilliantly and I expect that Dave's motor will run much sweeter - however if the worst happens and I cant make Dave's fit and I can get some brushers from somewhere then a favourite powerhouse will be working again Thanks for the help and suggestions - days hasn't been so bad after all. Plus I got the automation working 100% today 4 hours running with all locos stopping and starting automatically and moving around - very relaxing (though I did have several cups of tea watching it all work without any intervention!
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted April 26, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2018 It's on its way. I even put a 1st class stamp on it.. . .you've no idea how rare that is. .
009 micro modeller
If it is the same as the Lilliput 0-6-2 motor (looks similar) then I believe it's replaceable with a cheap mini slot car motor but I don't know the specifics of this. The shaft would need to be reversed.
WIMorrison
Dave - a lovely little motor but I wonder if it is missing brushes? It seems to me that the springs are running on the commutator and as they are much harder than the copper they will cut a line into it very quickly. I think you said you had another, can you take a look before I ruin this by running it? Iain
RMweb Premium Dava Posted April 27, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 27, 2018 Its a generic Mabuchi type motor which was available cheaply for years, the only distinguishing feature is that its double shafted. Try ebay?

I'm guessing they're 'expendable' See how it works, and if it's ok I'll pop the other one in the post to you as a spare.
