JhornG201
I’m looking to add electric light fittings to my Hornby B1. Not lamps but the small dynamo driven lights that were fitted to the K1s, A1s and A2s (as per the highlighted fittings on the attached photo). Does anyone know of a readily available product or DIY method to replicate them?
RMweb Gold Right Away Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2018 Possibly a version from the Springide white metal range, removing the carrying handles and then filing down to size. Electrical conduit can be represented by thin nickel silver wire from Nairnshire Modelling Supplies and lamp irons formed from spare thin brass strip left over from etchings. The steam generator might need some searching for though. Good hunting.
Dunc B
Try Hornby X10793 Tornado Accessory Bag, available from PetersSpares etc. I recently used this to add those type of lamps to a Bachmann A1.

Horsetan
Dave Bradwell sells castings K1 mould 25 https://traders.scalefour.org/DaveBradwell/castings/ Bear in mind he is sometimes away - I sent an e-mail a few weeks ago, but I think he may be engaged on other things. Thinking about the electric lamps, I wonder if it's possible to use those tiny SMD LEDs to produce working ones.
