bushes for an airfix ringfield motor

i have some airfix trains that run badly due to very little bush being left

tried Hornby ringfield bushes and the morto will not run unless i loosen all the screws so assume bushes are too long

tried shortening the bushes but then they twist and lose contact due to being a small dia 

 

any ideas what bushes would work or a source for original

Havent done one in awhile but seem to remember the brushes and springs for Dapol and Hornbys Ex-Dapol models fit. At least in the Castle and 4f having the same parentage, I think the Castle springs were shorter as well. Try searching for x8314 and x8328 for brushes and x8315 and x8329 for springs. Look at the photos and if youre still not sure as the supplier for measurements
