Rumblestripe
The old film is rather lovely. Have you seen the re-interpretation from the wonderful Public Service Broadcasting? Edited May 15, 2018 by Rumblestripe

jacko
This film is on a permanent loop at the Bo'ness and Kinneil railway museum - inside a mail coach. Wonderful stuff
Hroth
It was on again this afternoon but I missed it. No doubt it'll be run as required..... Audens verse is atrocious, Brittens music worse. Both are of their era. 'nuff said! I only watch it for the visuals.

Disagree inherently But even if they are of their era, they are reather emplematic of that era, both for what they were, and they way they were combined (poetry, music film), and in their use to educate the public. Have you tried focusing on the music without the images and words
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted August 1, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2018 Audens verse is atrocious, Brittens music worse. There are no absolute standards for poetry, music or art. I rather like it.
Steamport Southport
This film is on a permanent loop at the Bo'ness and Kinneil railway museum - inside a mail coach. Wonderful stuff They do the same with Elizabethan Express when Llangollen Railway have the Thompson Lounge Buffet Car running. It's actually in the film so you can watch the film whilst riding in the same carriage. http://www.llangollen-railway.org.uk/lnerveh.html Jason

darren01
Talking Pictures is great for research i record bits of film they show for details of what streets look like in the 1950,60, It surprising how much bomb damage there was even in the 60's. Now my no.1 channel.
