Small & Delightful - Narrow Gauge Model Railway Exhibition 2018 - 12/05/2018

Saturday 12th May saw the Small & Delightful Group Host, there all new Plug & Play Narrow Gauge Model Railway Exhibition, held at the Meadway Hall, Compton Dundon. The 1 day show featured no less than 14 Narrow Gauge layouts in a variety of gauges, including my WW1 Trench Railway, along with a selection of Demo and Trade Stands.

[1]   I have no official connection with the organisers and do not speak for them. However, I did exhibit some ten times at Shepton Mallet.

 

[2]   I attended on Saturday as a visitor and I think it fair to answer the above question firmly in the negative.

 

[3]   I understood the event on Saturday to be an experiment at the same location as the S&D group use for their small bi-annual event held in September.

As a member of the Small & Delightful Railway Group, although speaking privately, I don't think this day could possibly be taken as a successor to NGSW.

 

NGSW was a large and excellent show, as a showcase for narrow gauge modelling it probably had no equal.

 

The show at Compton Dundon was much smaller and encouraged discussions and gave visitors (and exhibitors) the opportunity to get

behind layouts, perhaps to "have a go".
