RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted May 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 24, 2018 (edited) In Copenhagen earlier this week, I came across a bar which had various railwayana and a display cabinet of old HO models of Danish railways. One of these was our old friend, the 350hp shunter in DSB livery. I am familiar with the Roco model but this was rather older and cruder (although better than the old Triang 00 model in that it had outside cranks). It looked like something that Lima would have produced but they would surely have sold it here when they brought out their 33 and 4F in H0. I don't recall there being an 08 in their range. Another option could be Jouef. But ditto, it would have appeared here as Playcraft. Could it be an early Heljan? doctor quinn
Hi Josef, I'm guessing you we're in the Jernbane Cafeen. When I visited they had a Lima model of DSB Traktor 6 it's a relivery of the OO scale class 09 so it's a bit of a stand In. Lima also catalogued a Swedish one in the 80s

doctor quinn
I did wonder if Long had done a model but apparently not. http://www.kvv73.dk/Long/Katalog/long_kataloger.htm

Look pretty good for their era.The My sometimes shows up on eBay.de and they do look better than the contemporary Fleischmann one. I've found a Lima DSB Nr6 on an auction site https://www.dba.dk/modeltog-solgt-lima-dsb-ml6/id-1043548554/ It's described as HO but it's clearly the OO scale 09 Edited May 28, 2018 by doctor quinn
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted May 29, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 29, 2018 That's the one, definitely. But I don't think it is the 00/1:76 09. It looks somewhat out of proportion. Perhaps the 09 chassis but a smaller scale body.
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted May 29, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 29, 2018 Done a bit of Googling. Comparing pics of the Lima "00" 09 with a Hornby 08, it does look as though the 09 was rather undersized on the bodywork and that the DSB model is therefore indeed the same model reliveried. This is, of course, the Hornby. The Lima 09 looks to have a much smaller measurement from footplate to cab window.

It is surprising how off the proportions of the Lima one now appears compared to a Hornby, Bachmann or Roco. I suspect the cab roof of the DSB loco has a flatter profile like the NS Class 5/600.
