Hornby GWR clerestories

My apologies, closer inspection has revealed that the yellow panels are painted, but on my (probably older) models the paint must have been applied in multiple layers. You can actually feel the panels raised above the surrounding surface which is why I thought they were moulded. It is much better done the photos in the examples above.

 

If your clerestories really are from the 'Flying Dutchman' train pack you should be able to see that the paint printing is vastly superior on any that have gone before. Unfortunately, for some strange reason the drop lights were printed in cream instead of 'mahogany'! But if the coaches were properly panelled then they would be fantastic. They were listed in the catalogue recently (until last year?) as individual coaches. Edited May 28, 2018 by Coppercap
