Thebigshot
Hi Guy This may seem an odd question but with the GWR railmoter being produced how likely is it that Kernow Model rail centre or how interested would there market place be for an item like this Thanks Alan

Big James
I think Kernow mainly deal with Cornish prototypes so the chances of it coming from them are slim. But the other manufacturers are probably watching to see if it sells well and if it does someone will jump on the bandwagon. Big James

RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted June 12, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 12, 2018 There would certainly be less demand for an L&Y railmotor than for the GW one. I take it that you know Simon Dawson (rue d'Etropal here) has done one.
Wickham Green
There would certainly be less demand for an L&Y railmotor than for the GW one. ....... but this is a prototype that passes the acid test of lasting into BR days ........ er - just ! ( Unfortunately the 'outside' locomotive type is so different from the GWR 'inside' type that there's square root of not very much in common from a model design point of view ! )
34theletterbetweenB&D
...with the GWR railmotor being produced ... Changes nothing on the technical side, it's fundamentally a motor bogie powered bogie vehicle, which we have had 'forever' RTR. It might stimulate a proposal for another line's similar vehicle. The Bang Up True Blue Brilliant Hero Rival to your L&Y proposal is one of the LNER's many such. There has long time been a kit available, and that's often a good guide to where manufacturer's attentions might fall...
woodenhead
There was the rather interesting LNWR railmotor too. Comes down to when will pre-grouping hit it big with commissioners - we're seeing that beginning so maybe someone like Hattons might one day look at such a contraption related to the Northwest, though they aren't so geographically biased as Kernow and will make what will sell regardless of location. Personally I would like to see some LNWR locomotive types and some early GW locomotives.
Steamport Southport
I think you've got two hopes. Bob Hope and no hope.... Jason
34theletterbetweenB&D
.. I would like to see some ...early GW locomotives. That would be the marker for demand for RTR pre-group models is truly flying, . Whole new track gauge and thus track system required, and probably twin gauge track options as well to allow for the transition period.

Maybe not that early - the bit in between Broad Gauge and the 30s maybe.

Only if you put the motor in the 'wrong' end : there ain't a lot of room in the boiler end of a 'Lanky' railmotor !

Quite widespread across the LNER and even some very similar LMS examples.
