All very interesting, will certainly be following this. I am thinking about a small diorama for my few bits, but then we;re moving house soon and the garden needs work..........

Al.

Thanks Al, I’ve been needing something as a photo board/micro for ages so thought it was about time I did something about it, but I ha e to say I’m quite excited about it, last night was spent weathering one of two 20’s for a client but I’ve just put pretty met on the second buffer so I’ll try an paint that tonight.

I’ll be updating my weathering thread with more of this later to

Quite a bit done over the last week, all three buffers are painted and finished apart from a bit of grease on two of them, the Templot has been printed off and the buildings at the blocks end have been measured up etc and the board itself was orderedsnd since arrived.

Next thing will be to get the board built add the cork and I’m good to go, not sure how much I’ll get done though in the next few weeks though as I’ve got four locos to finish weathering in time for Telford and start a new job in September so pretty busy :O

Late last night I thought I’d have a quick look of how the board went together, an hour later it was more or less finished apart from some of the extra brassing pieces and the front cover. I have to say I’m very impressed with this off Tim Horn, went together so easily, quickly and the quality is excellent.

Thats starting too look really good Paul. What size board is it? I keep thinking about ordering some of Tim's boards.

Thanks mate it’s 4’x18” but it’s bigger than it seems, how they recommend though :D

More work over the last week, all the track is now down and ready for wiring and all the brickwork for the platforms is now carved. Once wired I’ll paint and weather the brickwork then I can then get them fitted, then I can paint the rails and start ballasting.

A few pics of thisxweks work including a mock up of a small section of platform to see how it looks.

I recognise that it's just a mock up, but the platform top looks a little low. Trackwork with 'proper' chairs does look so much better than the ready-made lengths though.

Dave

Cheers Dave it’s the standard 21mm (3’) above rail height, as for the chairs you can’t beat Exactoscale. Edited by PjKing1

Paul, what are you using to stain the sleepers? I get the feeling Telford is going to cost me a pretty penny!!

Evening mate I use Wilkos Jacobean dark oak it’s abot £7 I think, I’m going to Telford on the Saturday so if you want to say hello let me know :) I’ve dropping a couple of loco off and picking a 20, Falcon and a blue Peak up can’t wait :D

Hopefully I'll be there Saturday, might have the father-in-law with me! Might even have my 26 done as my transfers should be here this week, depends how quick my mate can turn the weathering round.

At last an update, works be pretty slow on this projector unfortunately due to the new job, but I’ve managed to crack on with the platforms a little each night, I’ll have to order more foamex though to finish the platform surfaces. Anyway here’s a few pics of the progress so far and a pic of my new office (taken with permission ;) )

Hi a bit like my main layout thread I’ve let this one lapse a bit, although over the last few months I’ve not done much modelling.  I have however finished platforms 1 & 2, I’ve also reduced the height of the backscene to although I’ve kit sure how I will fit the ohle.
