Back to checking iPhone speakers.

Having just re-blown a chip courtesy of Biffo I got round to thinking about the various iPhone speakers I have lying around.

As they are 8ohm you really need two in parallel to get the most noise from these.

I tried speakers for the iPhone 5, 6 6S and 7.

After listening to them all I settled on the 6.

I would describe the sound as 'clean'. They obviously lack the base of larger speakers but they are surprisingly good. I think. Considering they are only around £3.00 on eBay.

I mounted two, one on top of the other. This was you only need to solder each contact to the one above.

They fit in surprisingly small spaces and, of course, they don't have to be one above the other.

They are sugar cube type speakers so they vibrate on both side as well as the sound emitting from the end port.

The sticky out bit needs cutting off the 6 speaker leaving a small aperture to be sealed with Blu Tac or the like.

I don't mind a bit of chassis cutting but I'm not into machining for the EM2 things. If only.

Here are a couple of pics and a phone video if it will load. (not an iPhone)

Edit.

My video file is too large to load at the moment. I'll try and cut it down for later.

Dave.
