Jeff Smith
That's some seriously heavy narrow gauge.....However when I saw these in service in the early eighties they were all black. This is a really great achievement.

This is a really great achievement. I agree it's great to see it back and let's hope they give it some big trains to pull so we can enjoy the videos. This one was painted red in service after 81, but as a one off you'd have been lucky to see it
DavidB-AU
That's some seriously heavy narrow gauge.....However when I saw these in service in the early eighties they were all black. There was only one of these, a 25NC with David Wardale's modifications. The Red Devil could produce over 4000hp at 100km/h. Cheers David
avonside1563
Unfortunately a lot of David Wardale's modifications have been removed and, apparently, she's not that much removed from a 25NC now. But still good to see her back in action.

RMweb Premium Dava Posted July 28, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 28, 2018 Fantastic to see the Red Devil restored and back in steam after nearly being lost with parts stolen a few years ago. Hopefully to return on mainline specials on SAR and to lead a commercially viable steam renaissance there.
