It says November 18 on Bachmanns website

Invicta Models, who commissioned the thing originally, still have stocks of their BR Maroon 39-550Z (and other liveries) at £27-99, which is probably less than Bachmann will be charging for the next batch.

Thanks John, wasn't aware of this, I've now ordered the Invicta model along with a couple of other bargins I spotted.

Meanwhile, I’ve still got three of those lovely kits to build.

Must make a special effort with those.

Might have a couple of blue RTRs though for my 1970s ‘play’ collection!

And don't forget Dave, LMS have done the correct buffer for these.

Dave.

They look like they are on the way, now listed as delivery to retailers in March 2019, however Bachmann has finally priced them, but at just over £41, with discount limits the retail average price will be £37. Strange pricing with Invicta models still having stock of their maroon and blue commission versions at  £29.99. Have ordered two more Invicta maroon models this afternoon and some Fox Mk1 CCT transfers to change the numbers and will be about £10 better off. May continue to buy the Tartan Arrow version, but that will be all.

There are differences with these new versions, the maroon version has black ends rather than maroon on the Invicta ones, and the BR Blue weathered one is unbranded whereas the Invicta one is “Express Parcels”, but the difference in price of around £10  is quite a lot just for that.

I will be repainting the ends, as I already have two Invicta versions with maroon ends. The Invicta commission price also includes p&p. There is a similar issue with the recently released main range Mk1 horseboxes, with multiple versions of the previously commissioned model still available from TMC and discounted.

Theres nothing like time to change ones mind...

the invicta thread went down hill about a price rise from £19.99 to £29.99, and some later posts on the page even suggested giving up the hobby to pursue alcohol and women.. yet here today the same model at original price is now considered a bargain to the £43.95 version... i guess those women didnt work out, or have they been traded in for CCTs 5 years later ?

see original thread...
