webbcompound
Anyone know what sort of livery Hudswell Clarke and Rogers locos might be turned out in during the 1870s? I'm not looking for the livery of a particular purchaser, just the factory standard finish (if there was such a thing).
Guest Isambarduk
I don't know about the 1870s but I have just completed a Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0DM from 1958, in 7mm scale. In asking around, the colour was described as 'Light Brunswick Green' and the best match was deemed to be Darlington Green (Precision P51 - L.N.E.R. Loco' Green [Darlington Shade]), which is close to NER Green, so that is what I used. I did put this image up on Facebook and a couple of friends have encouraged me to write some notes for others who may be planning to build this kit so I have been writing in instalments on the G0G Forum but I was wandering about also reproducing it here in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling … David
Osgood
I would think an alternative venue would be a most welcome idea........ Edited August 23, 2018 by Osgood
webbcompound
Thanks isambarduk NER green with black and white lining out seems like a good choice. Now I just have to scratchbuild the things!

Guest Isambarduk
NER green with black and white lining out seems like a good choice. Although the prototype would have been lined out in white, I used light grey (Humbrol No. 40 Pale Grey Gloss) because white appears rather too bright on a small model - it's worth thinking about when the time comes.
