Talltim
Being open to change is something that IMO can help us stay young in spirit rather than slipping slowly into GOG status. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted September 13, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 13, 2018 You need a bigger dress. Almost, but it should read....."You need a bigger Dresser".....because........ All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time collects many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant, Mewling and puking in the P4 Society. Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to a Pendon Workshop. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful Blog Made to satisfy his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a solderer, Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation down the MR Club Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lined, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Unwashed, uncouth and often stooped, Full of wise saws and modern instances if he uses DCC; And so he demonstrates the building of a kit. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slippered pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish posts on RMWeb, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion, Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything. Let change be seen as favour And welcome it gladly, As a ready to run Pacific for the fleet. (Apologies to Old W1lly)
F-UnitMad
Gauge O Guild? That's what I thought it meant!! Miserable bunch of old codgers, if you ask me - especially resentful of the boom in cheap(er) 7mm R-T-R recently, allowing riff-raff like diesel enthusiasts to infiltrate their domain!! It's not called the 'Senior Scale' for nothing!! Sprinting for exit....
kandc_au
New setup looks good EXCEPT for the header, which looks to bland/plain/terrible! Khris
steve1
It looks very similar to another forum I am on. I'm not the world's biggest fan of change but sometimes it's both necessary and inevitable. Like everyone else, I'll get used to it when it comes. steve
robert17649
its always important when updating to be aware that not everyone changes their computer/whatever every few months so they can keep up to date with site changes. My wife bought her iphone a year ago but when she tried to download the Natwest app was told her phone was too out of date to take said app. My computer thingy is a mere eight ears old but is not able to get some of the stuff around because it cant be updated yet it works! the whizzy doers forget that most of us arent empowered with endlessly updating machines, but just toddle along. axtually havent noticed any difference.
RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted September 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 15, 2018 If this new format includes a sales section, even if it is only a notice board with no other constrictions/restrictions, then I shall be mightily pleased as the old one worked so well for me in the past and some of us oldies would love to move our gear on to 'proper' buyers. It could even have an honesty bin where sellers (and buyers?) contribute a small, voluntary donation to a chosen Charity? Phil
Kiwi
axtually havent noticed any difference. There’s a reason for that - there haven’t been any changes yet! All this debate is just about planned changes. Can’t wait to see what the reaction is when changes actually happen !!!

RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted September 15, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 15, 2018 Go for it - you'll never get consesus anyway. The sun will still come up and go down, trains will still run, people will still post great / rubbish / incomprehensible (delete as appropriate) things.
