Farish Class 150 couplings

I recently bought second-hand a Farish Class 150/1 for an excellent price and I am delighted with it. The only items in the boxes were the two parts of the unit with none of the little plastic bags that would contain the 'extras'.

My question is whether, when new, they were supplied with dummy BSI couplers and obstacle deflectors as the extras which may now have gone missing?

As an aside when searching the internet for images of Central Trains 150 there are countless photos of Bachmann and Farish units but photos of prototype two car 150/1s in Central Trains livery with Centro branding are like hens teeth!

Yes the bag contains the deflector plate and cosmetic BSI coupler. There's one for each car. I believe the motor vehicle also includes a speaker mount in the bag

Thanks, Jo, as I suspected then.

This morning, in a flash of inspiration (!) , I looked on the Bachmann site for the relevant service sheets and it shows these as items that can be fitted. I'll contact the service department to see if they have any as spares but I'm not hopeful. DCC Supplies list the deflector from the Class 153 which I expect I could use but there is no listing for the BSI coupler from the 153.

The Dapol defectors are way too wide, almost like a caricature. They can be slimmed with a file, but still not right. The couplers on their models are Tomix Scharfenberg couplings, which I think is partly why the plough/ deflector is so oversized

Thanks for that information, Jo. As I expected Bachmann don't have any of the packs in stock at present. They have advised me to try again in a while.
