Paul_C
Can anybody tell me the locations of the two bus garages that were in use in Faversham through the 1950's - early 60's please. Apparently these two companies had their own until 1971 when they shared the garage for a while in Preston St. Any thoughts would be most welcomed. RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted September 30, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2018 I had a quick look at the NLS website here: https://maps.nls.uk/view/101429160 and at Old Maps, which I think is better here: https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/601500/161500/12/100954 but I couldn't see anything markd as a bus depot. If you have the company names, there may be addresses associated with them if you do an online search. Regards Ian

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 1, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2018 I can guess that the two companies were Maidstone & District and East Kent. 1971 was when a lot of changes were happening within the National Bus Company, of which both had become part on 1.1.1969. Rivercider
This photo on Flickr shows the M & D depot on Preston Street, which still stands. https://www.flickr.com/photos/kk69521/27299823286/in/photolist-9KyCB9-fAWoBU-9U294t-prsF2q-e3QE7F-c4bxyo-9jX7oe-dREP5s-ruCrFS-qZWTzv-ZDQvFk-HAoJmo-GH4zZB-XacUPo-zz53YA-XacVg5-qLhxB3-qLhxy7-qLhxyh The caption mentions the E K depot was in Cyprus Road, cheers
