Golden Fleece 30
00 or 0 gauge? If 00 don't use Hornby Dublo but you can 3-rail Peco track in various ways. Wrenn did nickel pointwork BUT the fibre base will warp in damp conditions. I have no idea if the Marklin track is suitable but if so Dublo shoes would rattle on it. If you are looking at 0 gauge I only know of 3-railing Peco. Garry
GoingUnderground
You could try asking the question in the garden railways part of RM Web, but it would be useful to tell them whether you are thinking of coarse scale Pre-WW2 Hornby, or more modern fine scale. Corrosion is the biggest problem, so old Hornby or newer Lionel 3 rail track will not be suitable for permanent installation outdoors.
sncf231e
I use Tenmille http://www.tenmille.com/ track for my garden layout (which is multi gauge including 3-rail 0 gauge). For ready made track the best is to use nickel silver rail and have plastic sleepers which are UV treated. Atlas track seems to be good for use in the garden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNDwI9ICNh4 Regards Fred

PatB
Bit late to the thread, but I believe Gargrave in the US do 0 gauge 3-rail flex track with stainless steel rail and either wood or plastic sleepers. They also do a range of pointwork, but I'm not sure how much of it comes in stainless. I find the wood sleeper variant interesting, living as I do in a country where the sun eats even UV stable polymers for breakfast.
