Hi all I have started to build my latest layout which is a single line diesel depot with refuelling point the board is 28” in length by 4” wide. The layout will have a backstop with concrete pillars with brick wall. I will be scratch building a small corrugated roofed area where the refuelling will take place.

So here are a pictures of my progress.

Hi I managed to paint and weather the oil and refuelling point today as I’m waiting for some corrugated sheet and brick work to arrive so I can scratch build a roofed area. The posts where the wall is going have also been painted and weathered. Here is a picture of the refuelling point weathered.

Hi I have built the refuelling shelter with corrugated plastic sheets and it’s looking really good pleased with my kit bashing. Also I have started on fitting the brick walls into place. The shelter and walls will need painting and weathering hopefully early next week. As always pictures of the progress.

Hi all the walled area is now fitted and the refuelling shelter is ready to paint and weathering. A small diesel tank is in situ and pipe work will be fitted within the shelter tomorrow so all in all it’s taking shape nicely. Here are some pictures of the depot.

Looking very nice. I've seen one of those shelters from a train and you've captured it well. I think they use them for washing as well as I'm sure I saw one on a siding used for electric trains. Is it static or will you be powering the track to allow a loco to run up and down?

Hi and many thanks for the comments I did know how the shelter would turn out but it’s come together just right. Will be painting and weathering tomorrow. The track will be powered to run locos back and forth.:)

Hi I managed to weather the walled area and the refuelling shelter. The pipe work and hose are all scratch built and I’m happy with the result. Next will be ballasting and some bits of static grass and weeds. Here are some pictures of my progress.

Finished the ballasting today which brings the layout to life. Nothing more I can get on with as I need to wait a day or so for the ballet to set. Once this is done I can do some work on some bits of grass and weeds around the layout and some small bushes. Here is a picture of my work.
