balders
47152....my favourite steamer....Southampton Maritime was one of them. Google will show WNXX images; http://www.wnxx.com/images/scrap/index.php?level=picture&id=5195# Unsure if that image will expand unless you subscribe. 47207 was another but not sure about an off-bogie shot. PM47079
47361 and 47283 were at Southampton but I am not sure if they were grounded Edited October 9, 2018 by PM47079
PM47079
http://www.wnxx.com/images/scrap/index.php?level=picture&id=5487 It was 47296 and as above 47152 The body sides were cut open to make it easier to get some of the larger components out The other two mentioned above 47283 and 47361 were at Southampton having been withdrawn in 1999 but were sold on to DRS for spares removal and were broken up at emr in Kingsbury in September 2004. As a point of interest 47283 was the brush type 4 which held the record for the most hours run up on a Sulzer 12LDA28C. It managed over 18000 hours. BR would always make sure they overhauled the power units at the 10000 mark.
