Guest mydadstoys
This is a micro layout based on a little loco shed which i can remember as a child. The micro layout is being modelled in N gauge with a left hand point, two standard straights and a wired straight for power to the layout. As you can see the baseboard is complete and I started on the scenery and I have also started to scratch build the lean to loco shed. Ballast and other track side items will be added in due course. So I have uploaded a picture of the progress.
009 micro modeller
Very nice - be good to see more. Where was the inspiration for this?
Guest mydadstoys
Very nice - be good to see more. Where was the inspiration for this? Thanks for the comments the inspiration came from a place called Brusselton incline which had a little siding for little locomotives. The scenery work I have started on is not exactly the same as the real place. I will post another picture of the scenery structure today.
Guest mydadstoys
I have started to make my own corrugated roof from an old takeaway foil tray with scribbing to imitate the corrugation. This needs to be painted but seems to work well.
Guest mydadstoys
Little bit of an update today the scenery structure and sculpting is complete ready for painting tomorrow once it’s all had time to dry. Looking forward to modelling the rock face. I have uploaded some pictures of the progress and I hope you like.
Guest mydadstoys
Hi all I managed to fit some cross beams to the little loco shed ready for when the corrugated sheets or wooden boards are laid. Still not certain what to put on the roof. I have uploaded a picture of the loco shed progress.
Guest mydadstoys
Hi I managed to start work on adding some colour to the timber frame of the little loco shed. This is a base coat for weathering to be applied. I have also started to lay the tin sheeting around the top edge of the frame allowing for the roof to be fitted once Ballasting is complete. The tin sheet will be painted and weathered once ground work is complete. I have uploaded a couple of pictures I hope you like.
009 micro modeller
Looking good. Could the roof be corrugated as well?
Guest mydadstoys
Looking good. Could the roof be corrugated as well? Hi 009 micro modeller yes the roof will be corrugated and well weathered once the ballast is laid. Thanks for your reply.
Guest mydadstoys
Hi all it has been a short while since I updated my thread. Some progress has been made I have made the double shed into a single now, corrugated sheets are in place on back wall and to the sides and front of the shed. The roof will be fitted once Ballast is complete. As you can see I have painted a coat of brown on the base and the cliffs have a coat of grey which still needs a black wash and some dry brushing. As always I have uploaded pictures of progress.
