Miss Prism
Sometime back, I took a personal copy of some webpages on LSWR & SR liveries. These appeared originally at homepages.tesco.net/~early/lswr/colours.html, and stemmed from a hosting source of lswr.earlygen.com. Both are long defunct (except on the wayback machine). I do not know who created the original pages, and I have no viable contact information (the e-mail link is also defunct), but I thought the content was a valuable resource, and is worthy of resurrecting and putting into the public domain, and could provide a useful and objective reference point in livery discussions. Apart from updating the html, I have made no change to the original presentation, and since I know little about LSWR & SR colours, it would be inappropriate for me to attempt to do so. The current format is a bit confusing, and would benefit with further work (separating out the goods and buildings entries). I will be offering the page to the LSWR Circle to see if they would like to host it on their website, and maybe they could cast a more informed view on it than I can. In the meantime: http://www.clag.org.uk/lswr-sr-liveries.html

In the meantime: http://www.clag.org.uk/lswr-sr-liveries.html Colour swabs seem to refer to the original LSWR & SR Livery Register published by the HMRS in 1970 ..... the Addendum published twenty years later casts serious doubt on the veracity of some of those colours - hopefully someone will be able to update this page in light of the subsequent research. Volume 3 of the new HMRS series has now been published and probably includes a number of late Southern colours - I'll find out when I get my copy ....... hopefully the Southern Railway volume will follow shortly.
