datamonkey
Hi guys, Just got a new Heljan class 16 from Hattons, upon fitting a 21pin dcc decoder and testing I have found that when the directional lighting is switched on it’s lit red and white both ends! Ha ha!! Haven’t seen this before. Is there a dcc setting I can adjust for this or would your think this is a wiring issue and will need to be returned for replacement? Cheers
SRman
It could be either. What were the lights like on analogue DC? If they showed red and white at both ends on DC, then it is a wiring fault. If the lights work correctly on DC, then it suggests the decoder needs tweaking of a couple of CVs (or use JMRI Decoder Pro, which makes this easy). badgerV8
I had this on a Heljan Class 26 recently, with a Zimo MX645 decoder. All was fine until the sound was selected on, at which point the lights at one end stayed on irrespective of direction of travel. I ended up taking the ESU decoder from another Heljan 26 and trying it, lo and behold it all worked fine!! Fitted the Zimo into the other Heljan 26 and it all worked fine too....! No answer, don't know why it happened, but needless to say I am convinced lighting can do weird things with DCC.....
