Digikeijs to Wifi Multmaus

The manual seem to be saying that to configure the wifi to talke to a Multimaus I have to connect the Digikeijs via Ethernet to separate router as the internal wifi is only for communicating to Multimaus etc.  As the home broadband is too far away for a cable I'll have to borrow and disconnect it or set up another router to do this.  Is this really necessary when I already have it connected to the same PC via USB?

Does anyone have a simple set of instructions to get these items talking to each other?

If you have the DR5000 connected via USB then you don’t need the LAN and you can configure it for the Multimaus to connect directly to the DR5000.

Simply change the protocol to Z21 in the LAN section, make a note of the Wi-fi SSID and set a password. You then simply go to the Multimaus and connect it to the DR5000 Wi-Fi SSID you noted earlier and use the password.

Should work a treat for you, but be aware that you can no longer connect to the internet via LAN without changing the protocol back again.

Tried this thanks but I can't get it to do anything.  All the LAN settings except the IP address are greyed out, including the protocol, and if I try to access any of the advanced menus it just tells me the DR5000 isn't responding within 5 seconds.  One of the visible but greyed options is to have the LAN act as a "bridge" which says it allows connection to a PC via a cable, but if I connect one the only thing that changes is a yellow LAN light illuminating on the DR5000.

Thanks for that.  I will try it when I get a chance.

The screen there certainly looks more like what I actually see than the screenshots in the manual.  They seem to be connecting up the PC to the DR5000 by wifi at the start, which I thought was what the USB was for...

But if it works I'm not going to worry too much about why is works.
