I wonder if there'll be other limited editions at the same time? Perhaps including the regional rep. versions? Wouldn't surprise me... RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted March 16, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2018 (edited) I don't know if anyone else has been counting, but with all the various limited editions and standard releases, there are currently - if my records are correct - some 27 different Bachmann Class 47s available to buy new (including on pre-order) at present. This seems an awful lot for the market to bear at the same time, so I wonder how long they will take to sell out, and therefore how long before we can expect to see other liveries being produced: 31-650L D1670 ‘MAMMOTH’ – BR two-tone green with SYP - Kernow MRC L/E 31-650Q 47829 - Police white/orange - Kernow MRC L/E 31-650R 47475 - BR Provincial services - Model Rail Magazine L/E 31-651DB 47832 ‘Tamar’ – Intercity Mainline - West Midlands and Wales Sales Rep Area L/E 31-651Z 47973 ‘Midland Counties Railway 150 1839-1989’ – Maroon - Kernow MRC L/E 31-653RJ 47712 ‘Lady Diana Spencer’ – (Intercity) ScotRail - Northern & Scotland Sales Rep Area L/E 31-653Y 47708 ‘Waverley’ – (Intercity) Scotrail – AMRSS L/E 31-653Z 47706 – ex-Scotrail with NSE flashes weathered - Kernow MRC L/E 31-654 47576 ‘King’s Lynn’ - NSE light blue – Standard release 31-655TL 47625 ‘CITY OF TRURO’ – BR blue weathered – South West Sales Rep Area L/E 31-656 47256 BR two-tone green with FYE – Standard release 31-657Z 47701 ‘Old Oak Common Traction & Rolling Stock Depot’ - Later (dark blue) NSE - Kernow MRC L/E 31-659 47001 – BR blue weathered – Standard release 31-659DS 47001 – BR Blue – Standard release 31-660A 47444 ‘University of Nottingham’ – BR large logo blue – Standard release 31-660DB 47628 ‘SIR DANIEL GOOCH’ – GWR 150 green – West Midlands and Wales Sales Rep Area L/E 31-661DS 47346 – BR Civil Engineer Dutch yellow/grey – Standard release 31-662 47359 – BR triple grey / Metals sector – Standard release 31-663 47209 ‘Herbert Austin’ – BR triple grey/ RfD diamonds – Standard release 32-800K D1733 – XP64 Experimental Blue – Bachmann Collectors Club L/E 32-815NRM 47799 ‘Prince Henry’ – EWS Royal Claret – Locomotion models L/E 32-815RJ 47805 ‘John Scott’ - DRS Compass blue – Northern & Scotland Bachmann Rep Area L/E 32-816NF 47727 ‘Rebecca’ – Colas Rail yellow/orange – London & South East Sales Rep Area L/E 32-816Z 47306 ‘The Sapper’ - RfD European weathered – Kernow MRC L/E 32-817SD 47714 – Anglia Railways turquoise – East Anglia/East Midlands/South Yorkshire Sales Rep Area L/E 32-818 47245 – West Coast Railways maroon – Standard release 32-819 47814 ‘Totnes Castle’ – Virgin Trains red – Standard release Have I missed any older 47s that are still available from retailers as "new"? RMweb Premium Scottish-Exile Posted March 16, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2018 if my records are correct - some 26 different Bachmann Class 47s available to buy new I've picked up the 2 Scotrail L/E's over the past month for obvious reasons, but glad that I'm not that much of a 47 fan so none of the others are of interest. I'm still recovering from Heljan's block release of Class 26's last month as my credit card statement has just arrived. Did I really need to buy 11 of them ? Indeed I seemed to recall 47701 as a limited edition set the new bar on prices that time too. They were right though, they did get to £49.99, it just took 25 years, 2 bankruptcies, 1 change of distributor, a change of ownership and relocating the tools 5000 miles, plus a new DCC ready chassis. Even now for the most part.. Lima stuff still is £19.99 second hand. Edited March 16, 2018 by adb968008

Give them a ring on 01455 245575 or e-mail service@Bachmann-europe.co.uk. I phoned them back in September last year and a very helpful lady called Jennifer made sure she got the correct part for me (stock code is ASM5, I think). The spare parts are linked to a specific model, so if you ask for underframe tanks for 31-659 you will get a set of original style tanks which are pre-weathered; but if you ask for 31-659DS you should get an unweathered set. That is assuming they have them in stock, of course. The cost was £7.00 including postage. Kevin Edited April 7, 2018 by apollo

rob D2
Finally got round to replacing the baseplate on my 47, Comparing this one with the latest release (47001), it doesn’t seem like there has been much progress since 47035 came out Are these the 57 bogie parts ( blue arrows ) as they are still depicted on the photos of the latest one ? Has anyone snipped them off if they are the wrong bit ? I’m sure I’ve seen bachy ones without these... And of course we have fuel tank scandal ....and as we know some of the recent ones have the wrong ones too Seems a shame to perpetuate mistakes really.... I notice the new baseplate didn’t have front steps on it, these appear to be stuck to the body now but there has been problems when they have been stuck to both body and chassis Edited April 15, 2018 by rob D2
class37418stag
I will get a ViTrains model or two if they release some in railfreight subsector grey (construction or metals). Just something about the ViTrains model for me though in relation to the chassis and the paint jobs that makes it fall short of the new Bachmann examples. With regard to the detailing parts on the Bachmann loco, does anyone know what these are and where they go?
