Fleetfoot Mike
Wondering does anyone have a pointer to a list of if/when individual Cauliflowers received Belpaire firebox conversions, please? My Google-fu is weak today (and frustrating). Thanks in advance...
Poor Old Bruce
The "British Locomotive Catalogue 1825-1923" Volume 2B LNWR and its constituent companies. Compiled by the late Bertram Baxter and edited by David Baxter. Published by the Moorland Publishing Company in 1979. Probably only available second-hand or possibly through your local library. Brassey
Baxters lists them. A lot started to receive BF from around 1924 but some never did. Do you have a specific loco in mind?
Fleetfoot Mike
Baxters lists them. A lot started to receive BF from around 1924 but some never did. Do you have a specific loco in mind? Anything that might have run on your/my favourite line around ‘34, that hasn’t been converted [you do realise I blame you entirely for my current LNWR-locos-in-LMS-service obsession :) ]
Brassey
I don't have allocations for 1934 I'm afraid as it is out of my period. In 1912 (the period of my interest) the following were at Shrewsbury: ‘18in Goods’ 59, 339, 467, 533, 725, 727, 776, 1702, 1712, 2352. This is quite a complex subject to research due to the renumbering by the LMS and the random nature of how the LNWR allocated numbers. 59 for example never received a BF nor was its allocated LMS number (8504) ever applied before it was withdrawn London Road Models do an etched brass kit of the Cauliflower (as to did GEM in white metal). IIRC there is a choice between belpaire and round top versions.
