Hi Gary,

Thanks for your interest in Templot.

Yes, Templot can produce templates and track plans for 00 gauge. In fact you can set it to work in any gauge or scale.

There are 4 pre-set sizes for 00 in Templot:

00/H0 -- matching Peco flangeways.

00-BF -- the most common standard for handbuilt 00 gauge track.

00-DOGAF -- the finescale standard from DOGA.

00-SF -- an alternative finescale standard which avoids the need to modify most wheels.

So you can choose which one you prefer. :)

regards,

Martin.

Hi Gary,

Yes, the timbers are normally set at the correct UK size and spacing for 4mm/ft scale.

But you can set them for any size and spacing, and if you wish you can adjust the size and position of each timber individually.

Martin.

What are the different flangeways, wheel profiles and B2B for these - the Peco one does not concern me overly as it is what it is, but the other 3 are interesting. DOGAF I can get from their website, true, but for completeness it might be useful to be able to make a comparison here.

Hi Simon,

For track see the second part of this long post of mine: http://www.rmweb.co....post__p__137494

For wheels B2B is largely irrelevant, the important dimensions are the minimum overall width and max BEF.

B2B should be adjusted to bring the wheelset within the max BEF.

Wheels:

00-BF, NMRA H0 and DOGA Intermediate: Width: 2.8mm (RP25/110 profile) MIN, BEF: 15.2mm MAX, B2B: 14.4mm nominal.

00-SF: Width: 2.3mm (EMGS profile or RP25/88) MIN, BEF 15.2mm MAX, B2B 14.5mm nominal.

DOGA Fine: Width: 2.3mm (EMGS profile or RP25/88) MIN, BEF 15.5mm MAX, B2B 14.8mm nominal.

Note that for 00-BF, NMRA H0 and DOGA Intermediate, the 2.8mm minimum width is often infringed (e.g. Markits/Romford), with consequent bumpy running through crossings (frogs).

regards,

Martin.
