random
Bonds 00 gauge M7. Heavy brass construction. A bit too tall - probably because original Bonds mechanisms were vertical and also rather tall. However, this model has an early Zenith or early Tri-ang motor. Don't know whether this is original. Can anyone post some more Bonds 00 pictures? bertiedog
Bonds OO locos are quite rare, the quantities made were very low, coaches were made in much higher amounts. The later ones used Romford motors in the main, but there was a lot of variation as the production was patchy compared to the 0 gauge productions. Stephen. Mark Carne
Which was a design that they had in common with the L&Y I believe.
5050
Couple of things relating to Bond's, a company that I haven't taken much notice of when scanning old ads as they always seemed to feature O Gauge which isn't a real interest of mine sorry to say. However, here is an advert from 1950 MRN for an OO 0-6-0 mech. And here is the 'Bond's' motor (or at the very least, a Bond's style motor) from my 'Mystery Manchester Prairie' which runs very well and quietly. RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted November 28, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 28, 2018 Sensationally fine wheels by the standards of that time.

On the Prairie but also on the unit portrayed (drawing) in the advert.
Il Grifone
Scaling from the drawing* which comes out at exactly 00 size on my monitor (26mm wheels, 1" armature and track gauge 16.5mm). The wheels measure 2.5mm thick which makes them BRMSB standard. The back to back is only 13.5mm however What does a 7' 3" + 8' 0" coupled wheelbase fit? (apart from a 56xx for which even the 19mm wheels are too large.) * For what it's worth!
