Shedmaster
Hi All, I'm very surprised that there hasn't been an thread entry anywhere for these, so here goes.... This Bachmann 'OO' Scenecraft item is now available in the shops.......: They're excellent little mouldings but it turns out that they are actually weathered and very very lightweight. The black screw threads do NOT work, as originally suspected, and the bit that actually holds the vehicle is NOT fixed, it is adjustable up and down but you couldn't hold, say, the weight of a Heljan 33 or Hornby 73 ! Beacon
They look great but does anyone have any pictures of them being used on the prototype? I wasn't sure enough of how, where or why they are used to actually go ahead and order any! If they are designed to hold a loco are they easily fixable to model as such or would the loco need to be made lighter, i.e. motor removed?

Guest stuartp
All the ones I've seen are four per vehicle as in Jon's link. Those in DMU servicing sheds may be set up to lift a full set (so 4x number of vehicles in set), much quicker than splitting and re-forming sets even if only one vehicle needs attention. Certainly at least one road at Neville Hill can lift a 4-car set.

They are reasonably cheap so even if you do end up damaging one or are not happy with the glueing then they are easily replaced at not much expense B)

Pete Harvey
Here are the lifts that were at Gresty Bridge Notice the drive motors on the tops these are missing from the Bachmann models. Pete
Lyddrail
Pete, There are many makes and versions of lifting jacks, none of the ones I have photed have a second motor at the top. Might be necessary for larger lifting loads. I would guess the Bachmann version is about 10t. Cheers.
Dan Hamblin
I received mine yesterday and after adjusting the lifting point tried them out in the workshop area of Westwood Junction. Very useful bits of kit to have around Regards, Dan
