May be - but she's married, sorry. If you pay the ferry I am sure she would hand deliver the parcel though. Happy laughing sort of girl, great fun to work with, just don't eat the flapjacks she 'cooks'.  (she'll probably read this and I'll die slow death tomorrow, she lurks on RMW). Other options are a retired senior post office manager (M), retired police Inspector (M), retired advertising executive (F), a middle aged Geordie (overweight but tame), or a tall Yorkshireman (ex-BR)!  Equal opportunities employer, age and gender no barrier to working here.  The ex-solider (M) does the IT and only packs if we're in a major rush. as do John or myself really. We have to do the boring stuff, managerial ZZZZzzzzz.

Just the four scam phone calls this morning,purporting to be from BT. It's funny that they don't seem to employ anyone with a British accent any more. Anyway, this PC can stay "riddled with viruses", though my anti virus doesn't seem to know about them. And I'm not a BT customer in any event.

 

So back to railways, and another B17, this time bringing in the stock for the afternoon service to Harwich.

No more phone calls from "BT" yet. I wonder if that's because I answered the last one with the words "Detective Superintendent Barnatt speaking"? That call was termintated very abruptly.

One last, lingering look at the bootiful B17, as it heads off towards Harwich, though 61653 will not be going all the way. This was taken to see how the new water tank appears from this angle. Quite nice really.

Plenty of LMS engines to be seen from PN's platforms, but no room to include the running lines, so the use of imagination is required. We just have the Leicesters to look at, and I have cheated by including most of the Up trains that actually passed by to the West. Then we have Ivatt 4s of course. Do they count?

End of last supermarket shopping trip before Christmas, and surprisingly little traffic or queues. We shall now see if my cunning plan of advance purchases has worked. So now I have a nice free day, which can start with some more photos, again featuring the J6 and A1 as they approach and pass each other.

I replied along the Lines of I haven't got a ******* computer !!  Long pause and line goes dead and I return to my cuppa.

Huge delays to the post, sorry Gilbert. Mail plane didn't go last night, due to...well it looks more like incompetence than anything!  Plane went 'tech', crew ran out of hours, new crew flown in, plane still 'tech', then East Midlands was iced in anyway by then (23.30)....good grief, as Charlie Brown used to say.  Hopefully it went this evening!

Its West Atlantic, but it was an APT    ATP whenever I have seen one.

Gayton Hall is arriving with the return Harwich service, by the way, and the J6 is just making slow progress. This looked nice in colour, but somehow black and white seems just right.

We were discussing the Little Barford power station coal train recently, and it is now time for the empties to return, once again behind a borrowed engine.

 

Off to Little Bytham again today, this time with our own Mallard 60022, who will therefore be very close to the site of his record breaking achievement.

Good grief - that  brings back memories. I was on jury duty in Nottingham and one of my fellow jurors was a video 'producer' who made a promotional video for Air Atlantique when they were flying DC3's. We actually made it into the Guinness Book of Records for that trial for a while.

Just a couple of shots at the north end tonight.

The 01 has been stopped at signals,and may be there for some time. The stock in the carriage siding is for the 5.25pm to KX. We can then have a look at the same scene from the opposite direction.

After another lovely day at Little Bytham, which is now even more seriously impressive than ever, it will be back to finding ways to improve PN, but not today, as I'm off to give golf a try after a rather long break. I've got a nice parcel from Neil to open when I get back as well.

 

Featured train this morning is an Up Harrogate which departs that spa town at about 1.20pm. The official formation shows just eight coaches, three of which are BSOs, and three more are CKs. No catering facilities at all. I can't do that from loose stock, so my normal Leeds rake has to do. KX A3 Minoru is returning to the capital.

It is the presence of wagons on the Down slow that makes this second one work.

I like the subdued look of the paving slabs on top of the platform, my Metcalfe ones are a tad too "brand new" and in your face, hopefully a bit of weathering will tone them down to a more realistic look.
