RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 16, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 Thanks - the last ever showing of Charlotte Road takes place on 04/05 December at Darlington, and then the axeman cometh.
RMweb Gold griffgriff Posted November 16, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 A mate of mine quite fancies the signal box... so if you ever fancy having it recycled....
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 16, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 A mate of mine quite fancies the signal box... so if you ever fancy having it recycled.... More or less everything will be for sale after the breaking up is done, so the box will probably be available too. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 16, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 Underground Ernie proved very popular at the Merseyside show, so if anyone want's to see P4 with "eagle eyes" (but no "gripping hands" I'm afraid) then get to Darlington, and also to wave Lotty goodbye B)
RMweb Gold griffgriff Posted November 16, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 More or less everything will be for sale after the breaking up is done, so the box will probably be available too. would that be via a popular internet auction site? RMweb Gold Mr.S.corn78 Posted November 16, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 16, 2010 Can't wait to see that passing by on the layout and what ever else you see fit to run looking forward to seeing the team again cheers Simon
Mike J
Beast, I'm going to make a special effort to come and see Charlotte Road at "big D" as it's the last show, and we are also there with N.O.E.L. I'll pop by and say hello. E-bay will make someone very happy if you go down that route.
Pete Harvey
Well Dave at least it will be something interesting on Richards layout when it finished. Pete

modelmaker87
More or less everything will be for sale after the breaking up is done, so the box will probably be available too. That box was the subject of a 5 page article in MRJ awhile back too. That will add to its sale price ya know. Discounts for those who bring their own blade to remove it from the baseboard at the close of play Sunday at Darlington. Cheers, Tony
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 17, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 17, 2010 would that be via a popular internet auction site? Probably just post a list on our site and the first reply to arrive gets the item, details haven't been thrashed out yet
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted December 1, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 1, 2010 Sadly, with the understandable cancellation of Darlington , Charlotte Road has been to its last show - Merseyside 2010, a decision about the layout will be made over the coming weeks, we have some serious interest so, watch this space. RMweb Gold griffgriff Posted December 1, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 1, 2010 I shall miss Charlotte Road. It captured a sense of time and place in history. It is a shame that the last up train towards Waterloo will now never run. The yard will remain unshunted and that the register in the signal box will now not be signed off and closed – then again I can’t imagine ‘beast’ leaving such an important detail left hanging
Guest jim s-w
P4 layouts very rarely die, they just move on to a new life somewhere else. Cheers Jim

Poindexter
Sorry to hear your not out with Charlotte Road this weekend guys. Damn weather.!!!!! Bob. Ditto. The main reason I was going to make the not inconsiderable round trip to Darlo. Although I do feel Dave and Simon made the right decision. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted December 12, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 12, 2010 I'm pleased to say that the Charlotte Road scenic section has been purchased, the new owner does not require the signal box, colour lights or the track circuit modules which will be removed over the next couple of weeks, prior to collection. Pugsley
Are any of the signals spoken for Dave? I can't remember what was on the layout (been a while since I saw it), but if any are 3 aspect, I'd be interested.

Hi Pugs - they are all 3-aspect, 1 with a dummy theatre and a shunt, 1 with a subsidiary shunt, 2 plain 3-aspects and 1 bracket - modelled on Faversham. Not sure what we are doing with them yet, depends how they come out of the ground !
Pugsley
Thinking about it, I must come across like a circling vulture at the moment! I'd be interested in both of the plain 3 aspects, should they become available.

Circle away - when the decision is made, you will be first in line, assuming the decision is to sell (keeping it open at the moment)
