You make these look very tempting! Chivers should pay you a retainer for showing how well their kits can be presented!

Thanks

I think they all look like they need a repaint - which is exactly what you set out to show, I'm sure. That is real "weathering" rather than showing layers of grime, which may be less likely for such stock, actually. I like the birds on the trestle, too!

Today the coach arrived so i have made a start building the Railcar

I have shortened the coach & built a fixing so the coach & loco can run

I still need to make the drive compartment

The Steam railcar is now on hold till i get some works plates but it will be out next weekend at the Greater Manchester Transport Society Model Railway Exhibition

But i am making a start on a Backwoods Miniatures Vertical Boiler 0-4-0 that sits on the Bachmann gas mechanical chassie

today i have only got the holes drilled as i had to take the kids to see beauty & the Beast at the LBT in huddersfield

i hope to have this finished so it can pull my works train made from Chivers kits

Utterly charming as usual, Brian! The VB is intriguing - any room for a decoder, d'you think?

the chassie is the Bachmann Gas Mech & is fitted with one & there is room to fit sound if need be (I have not fitted sound but the boiler is hollow)

I hope to get some video of both this weekend to the show in manchester

Having a look aroud Ebay i found some 25/28mm war game buildings for Old Wild West Buildings for the price i Had to have a look at one of the kit to see if i can use them in my new On30 layout

Well the kit arived today the door is 37 mm or 1 7/16 high so just under 6 foot in 1/4 inch scale (On30)

which close enough for me

I have taken some photos with a woodland secnics Man in front of the building he is 1 1/2 inch high so 6 foot

the makers do two sizes of which i have the small one so the larger ones sould be better to scale buildings

Full range here

http://www.sarissa-precision.co.uk/store/oldwesthr/

& here what with very little work it can look like

printed roofing & paint & ink from citadel (the roof & building frontage are lose)

hi...the door height of small and medium options will be the same.....just the depth of the building seems to differ....

I think your choice of figure example is misleading...everybody knows lumberjacks are giants amongst men.... besides, I think he's stood on tiptoe?

The Old West Heroic range is larger than the one in my photos so the doors from that range will be bigger compair this pic on there web site the building on the right is the same as the one i have built
